Single-player action-RPGs are already fun as they are, but The Last Story may be looking to add more to the experience. Discussions in Japanese blogs and message boards have it that Mistwalker is adding some online modes for the game, so we could be looking at more playtime when the time comes.

One online mode supposedly allows players to fight each other using their respective characters. If you're more of the passive type, rumors also point to online co-op, where you make like an MMORPG and slay monsters alongside other players.

There's also mention of a new character, General Trista, although details are pretty sketchy at the moment. Another interesting bit is that changing your equipment will also change your character's appearance.

All the things above have yet to appear in magazine scans and official reveals, so you might want to bite into this chunk of meat with a grain of salt.
