Admit it. With Capcom's Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles doing a good job of capturing that light gun arcade experience on the Wii, as well as Sega's Ghost Squad also making its way into the motion-sensing console, you couldn't help but wonder if we'd be able to see the House of the Dead series following suit. Well, consider yourself almost psychic, as there seems to be a rumor circulating around the Internet that the legendary zombie shooter title will be making its way to the Nintendo Wii. Awesome!

This bit of news comes from a GameFly placeholder ad, as you can see captured in the image above. Scheduled for a March 3, 2008 release, the series' second and third iterations seems to be bundled together into one package.

While this makes perfect sense - after all, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles pretty much proved that light gun adventure games work impeccably on the Wii - we also can't help but wonder why only those two. After all, the fourth entry in the series, House of the Dead 4, has that waggle-to-reload thing going on and ties in perfectly with the Wiimote. Then again, it's still House of the Dead no matter what number it is, so we can't help but squeal in token junkie joy. Here's hoping that it gets confirmed soon enough.

lol...

Saddly House of the Dead 4's graphics are much too strong for the poor Wii... they'd have to due some major cutbacks to the game *and make it suck*. I'm *****ing estatic HOTD2 and 3 are coming though, please add in 1 too sega!

Really?

I didn't know that toning down graphical content makes a game "Suck".

*Sadly* indeed

Sadly, spelling must not be taught in schools anymore. Hey, if Sega is going to start porting light gun games to the Wii, can't they port the Virtua cop series? I would buy Virtua Cop 3 in a heartbeat.
