Rumor: Sega to announce Skies of Arcadia 2 soon?

Wii, PS3 - Image 1Late in October of last year, we put up a rumor post revealing that Sega will announce Skies of Arcadia 2 sooner or later.

It seems that the buzz was on the money as German site Sega Magazin reported that Sega will indeed be making such a move this year. This, according to their source close to Sega.

Planned for the Nintendo Wii, with a possible PlayStation 3 version as well, Skies of Arcadia 2 will try to revitalize Sega's RPG portfolio in this gaming generation. Details have been pretty scarce, though hints suggest that we could be seeing presentations by the time TGS 2008 arrives.

Yeah, it's not the most common sight to see a Wii-PS3 cross-platforming RPG, but we'll have to see it first to be converted into believers. Oh well, we guess that's something new to look forward to this year.

SEGA's recent PS3 title, Valkyria Chronicles, features Skys of Arcadia protagonists Vyse and Aika as playable characters. That may (or may not) give some credibility to the rumor...

We have no RPG for the PS3, so it's A MUST! The graphic won't be really good since they cross-platform with ps3 (they'll surely make the textures HI-DEF and lower than for the wii version, but that won't make the ps3 version good looking, it'll lack the animations of a next gen game I'd say) but it's not like sega would use tons of guys to work on the project anyway, so the graphics, ps3 or wii, would have been surely cell shaded or unpolished anyway. I think that the best they can do is use cellshade like eternal sonata. It doesn't cost too much, it's easier to code and it's beautifull anyway.



Anyway, I WANT this on my ps3, I REALLY NEED JRPGS!!!

But i would make sense (for me). PS3 and Wii have a much bigger install base in Japan. But then again, the game would come out in different regions, so I would be wrong again...



Nahh, doesn't matter anyway, seems like finally getting a good JRPG for PS3.
