Rumor: Reggie Fils-Aime's Top Secret Wii Documents? |

Just this weekend, Nintendo fans have gotten quite stirred up by images that have been floating around the web which are SUPPOSEDLY scans of trashed documents from the desk of President and Chief Operating Officer for the North American division of Japan-based video game company Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aime.The document, which was supposedly fished directly from Reggie's office trash bin after a meeting, talks about how Nintendo plans to continue its domination of the gaming market, mainly pointing out the success of the Nintendo DS as compared to other consoles and handhelds. By the third page however, it proceeds to talk about the game Disaster Day of Crisis which Nintendo legend Miyamoto is supposed to be "heavily involved in". In the same paragraph, there is also a reference to their statement at the previous E3 event that they have one more big secret to reveal, and that this will be carried out via Disaster Day of Crisis.
However, page 4 has the most interesting bits, since in it can be found yet another paragraph which states, to quote:
"... yes, our last secret has to do with how you look at games, how you experience them. We've been holding back this announcement because we're afraid our competitors might copy the idea. So to keep that risk low as possible, we've kept it secret - until now."
The next part then proceeds to talk about another invention called the HMD or Helmet Mount Display which is supposed to allow the player to achieve the experience that he or she is inside the game itself, thus introducing a whole new level of game immersion.
However, despite this flurry of exciting information, one question remains to be answered: Is this real? Does being a janitor at Nintendo HQ really pay off? Has valuable corporate information just been irrevocably leaked? Is this just an addition to an already-growing number of rumors surrounding the Wii? Is this an elaborate (and well-written) hoax? Is this a strategy by Nintendo to throw everyone else off balance?

look at the backgrounds- it's the same...words aren't folded...photoshopped...
also calls it "Nintendo Wii" which they don't do...
and when would they ever pull out an apple to show they're release date? Sure it's like apple but Reggie would more likely a pull out an ipod than an actual apple- the apple thing sounds like Miyamoto...not Reggie...
If your going to do something this elaborate, at least print it and then scan it. This is the worst photoshop hoax I have ever seen.

I'm calling BS right now . . . this thing reads like it's written by someone with the mental capacity of an amoeba. This is definitely not something that would be floating around any self respecting corporate headquarters much less sitting in the waste basket of a President and COO mixed in with real trash. Besides . . . shredders aren’t a recently new invention and I’m sure that Nintendo would spot ole’ Reggie one to use in his office.
It's obvious that it's Photoshopped. Look at the text, and look at the dumb-ass crumpled paper background. The text isn't crumpled, and the paper is.

He/she actually didn't take it too far in terms of "secrets revealed" which is good and makes it more believable but the quality of the page and the phrases he uses make little sense for a Nintendo document.
Don't underestimate the fanboys though. They believe anything that's thrown their way.

There are so many spelling errors and consistency issues (specifically in the HMD section - Is it "Head Mounted Display" or "Helmet Mounted Display"?) that this can't possibly be real. Add to that all the obvious photoshopping for the crumpled paper look, and you've got an obvious hoax. Come on, guys. Don't fall for this stuff!
Look at the stuff at the top of the first page. Why would they put their Public Relations number at the top of a speech? Is that supposed to be their letterhead? I would imagine that Nintendo has a more professional-looking letterhead than that. Fakey fakey.
There is no way that would cost $79, it would be more expensive than the damn console.
But I would laugh so hard if Sony tried putting something like this out.

this is an obvious fake... but what if nintendo intentionally threw something like this out there to get feedback discussions going in forums. just to see how successful it will be when it comes out
to the first guy, of course Qj believes anything. I remember they got all excited when EA said the controller was "touch sensitive" and for some reason they thought they said "touch screen". lmao

Yeah, this definately isn't real. It just wasn't written like a legitimate corporate document should be, and the folds are exactly the same on each page. The text looks too perfect to have been thrown in the trash, anyway. The Virtual Reality Helmet was ruled out as being fake a LOOONG time ago, so I doubt Nintendo would pull that out now. I don't see why people bother, the conference is in three weeks...just wait.

Why does everyone insist on posting the same crap about it being fake and photoshop'ed after one person has already stated it?
This could be a false statement but we can't be too sure. We just have to wait to get official word from Nintendo.
