RUMOR: Nintendo's wireless Nunchuk already in development?

Ó

Wirless Nunchuk already in the works?Yeah, you read the title right. A supposed wireless Nunchuk is in the works. Some sources have reported that this was brought about by complaints of how the dangling wire that links the two controllers becomes a distraction especially in games that call for wide movements.

This makes absolute sense, don't you say so? If you think about it, Nintendo's got all the reason to make these controllers wireless. It's going to be all for the gamer's benefit to have free movement while playing the Wii.

It's speculated that this new wireless connectivity would have an adapter plugged into the wiimote to receive signals from the Nunchuk.

However, a Nunchuk won't look like the actual martial arts weapon it was named after without the "link" that connects both ends. Introducing a wireless Nunchuk should call for a name-change in the controller's product line, in that case.

As of now, there's no official word from Nintendo, but you can bet your bottom dollar that we'll keep you guys updated on this not-so-surprising-yet-widely-appealing rumor.

This would be great, although I notice that the cord is already long enough for Wii Boxing (you can stretch one arm fully out without tugging on the Nunchuck), and if the Nunchuck was wireless, it would require batteries, also making it heavier. Ew.

I don't own a classic controller, but from what I understand, IT plugs into the Wiimote....

How can that be comfortable? Where the ***** do you put the wiimote while you're playing?

the whole "this new wireless connectivity would have an adapter plugged into the wiimote to receive signals from the Nunchuk" seems weird to me: if the wireless nunchuck can send a bluetooth signal, I guess you don't need to route it through

the wiimote...duh.

and a rechargeable battery shoud fix the power supply.;

that change would be nice as I'm getting tired of whipping myself in the muscle games of rayman ravin rabbids :P

I dont like it! It is not right! It is the nunchuck, its not the rock or whatever else it could be called! BUT if they do do (do do haha) this, I do NOT want an attachment to my wii-mote! Just release a FW update, that will compensate (ie allow 8 bluetooth devices rather than 4) then, there is no need for a little box! And, if they just used some sort of lithium battery for the stock one, it would give people the false sense that the battery would last a long time!

The classic controller cord is as long as the nunchuk,

so u put the wiimote anywhere.

I doubt they'd change the name to anything besides "Wireless Nunchuk", anything else would needlessly confuse the average consumer.

I guess it would also take 2 batteries..

that would be 4 x 4 + 16 batteries to get your wii party going...

How about JoyStick? Doesn't a joystick resemble a steering rod on an airplane? Well doesn't the wireless nunchuck resemble that aswell?

Either way, I won't be purchasing a Wii until the fallowing happens:

1. Bigger gaming (and Virtual Console) Library

2. Wireless Wiimote/nunchuck

3. Rechargeable controllers (what's with the batteries? If Nintendo got rid of batteries since the GBA SP, why bring them back?) with dock station.

4. Controller skin replaced with Nerf material (for better grip since I sorta get sweaty palms)

5. Even Stronger Wrist Straps.

#1 just takes a matter of time.

#2 rumor for now, but you know it will happen (maybe by a third party company like Pelican)

#3. Same as #2.

#4. Last I heard, it's been already in the works

#5. Already has been manufactured.

they should do this to the classic controller

# 2 batteries?!Guest 2007-01-15 11:20
I think 1 batterie should be just fine. The Nunchuk should need as much power as the Wiimote or any other controller.
