Rumor - Metroid Prime Trilogy headed for the Wii? - Image 1It looks like the floating brain-like biological weapon known as Metroid is set to invade and conquer Nintendo's console. We got a hold of a rumor saying that the first two titles of the Metroid franchise are going to be released for the Wii.

Do take note that the third and final installment of the game franchise, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, has already been released for the gaming platform last March in Japan.

As for the rumor, a certain retailer apparently had a SKU pop up in their system for the Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii. There's no doubt that the first two could be made for the system, but how is it going to be? Hmmm... Could it have all-new Wiimote controls? Maybe.

Well, things are still up in the air. After all, this is just a rumor. We'll keep you guys posted if we get official news regarding this matter. So keep it locked here on our site.

» Sweet

As much as I'm sick of remakes, Metroid is a special case. Let's hope this one comes to fruition, eh?

i actually didnt get to play Metriod Prime 1 so this could be awesome and with motion controls like MP3 which worked amazingly well

I guess Nintendo is already out of ideas for new games (big suprise there, huh?) After the predictable remakes of all the washed-up mario games, they'll just release identical Gamecube games ported over with NEW motion controls.

Why is Nintendo posting record profits for this?

» Prime 3 was ace!

I agree with you, The Obsidian. Motion control implementation in Prime 3 was nigh perfect. Would definitely want to see Prime 1 and 2 get the same treatment too...

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

"I guess Nintendo is already out of ideas for new games (big surprise there, huh?)"

Seeing as how Nintendo continues to release NEW games....you are dead wrong as usual.

"Why is Nintendo posting record profits for this?"

Only an idiot would have to ask. The answer is simple. Have you figured it out yet?

For those that don't like the remakes, don't buy them. Gee, that was hard.

As it was point out already as plain as the nose that should be on your face, some people never got to play them. Some people NEVER HAD a gamecube. Some people never got into such genres until recently. Some were too young at the time.

Now they get to play them and they get to do it with new and improved controls (hopefully). I think that's awesome and Nintendo's profits agree...OOPS!!! I gave a hint....darn. I bet you still wont "get it".

» Anti-Mr. Common Douche

yeah I'd have to agree with everybody here (Except Mr. Common Douche Bag), while remakes most of the time wouldn't warrant a purchase from me, I would definitely get these for the Wiimote controls that were on MP3. They were EXCELLENT. This is the same reason why I think most of us got RE4 Wii.

And seriously like ISO said, if you already have had your Metroid Prime fill, then don't pick it up. Hey Douche Bag Sense, did you complain and cry when Techmo release Ninja Gaiden Sigma? Or what about the MGS collection some weeks ago? probably not....
