Rumor: Killzone 3, Resistance 3, World at War 2 coming in 2010 |

Ó
PlayStation: The Official Magazine. How big? Try Killzone 3 big, with a dash of Resistance 3 and a side helping of World at War 2.
The next entry in the Killzone franchise is being pegged by the magazine as one of its "secret games of 2010". Here's what the blurb in the advance December 2009 issue apparently said:
Insider slips reveal three big names you can already pencil for the next year. Killzone 3 is reportedly deep in development, Insomniac%u2019s Full Moon Show podcast hints at a project we can only conclude is Resistance 3, and a Treyarch employee%u2019s online mentions a Call of Duty: World at World sequel.
So first Resistance 3 and now Killzone 3? And World at War 2 (which isn't that surprising considering Activision's push for yearly CoD releases)? Wow, shooter fans are going to have a field day next year if this proves to be true.

Killzone 3: Add more content to Single Player mode for re-playability. Things such as weapon select and cheats would be cool. Make running more realistic. You can't turn that well when running in K2. Split screen story co-op is a necessity now-a-days.
World at War 2: Needs to not exist unless it's CoD4 quality.

My 360 sits hardly touched, my ps3 sits untouched at all before and after UC2 even, very mediocre console game.

Resistance 3 is a defo as its now a money cow, just milk away :D. But KZ3 wasn't thinking about that.
But i think all of them should come true by 2012 (KZ3 takes time to make e.g. 2 years more :D)

W@W 2 is expected
Resistance 3 had earlier rumors, which involved a movie going to be released in 2011 with a Resistance 3 billboard with the New York Skyline etched in the name.
Killzone 3 wasn't much of a surprise but I was not expecting the release that early.

Go to the 3rd page for the 720p comparison gallery.
The PC definitely looks better, but only by a tiny bit, not enough to warrant the $1500+ PC they needed to run it on.
I too will stick to console gaming, it's overall a better experience in my mind.....not to mention laying on the couch and playing on a big screen is priceless....

I could care less about any FPS on the PS3, but not by much. I've tried time and again to give them a chance, but without the keyboard and mouse support, I can't aim worth crap.
However, I can build a 500-600 dollar computer that can play all the new games at higher than console settings, don't have to pay for general online play (Xbox360 anybody?), have the option to use either M/K OR controller in-game (none of the consoles have it), can do multitudes of other stuff easily (such as documents, schoolwork, programming, video/music), and looks however I wanted it to (custom and cheap cases are easy to come by).
If you want to talk about technology being obsolete... well, the consoles are already far behind and have been. At least on the PC you have the option to make it run better and look better if you want. And you don't have to buy the best card there is. The 5750 can play Batman at 2560x1600 at 30frames. Guess how much it is? $130. And it's a NEW card, the LOWEST end new card. Needless to say, there are even cheaper cards that will give you comparable to better results than consoles.
But none of that was criticism of the actual games. I'm sure they're fun to play for people that can put up with the controller. Unfortunately, I'm just not one of those people.

Seriously.. any idiot looking for a bit of internet spotlight can pull something ridiculous or obvious out of their ass and call it a rumour.
I mean... hasn't Cross game chat been 'rumoured' to be implimented into the PS3 since FW 2.30/2.40?
I know this 'rumour' comes from PSM but still... its another god damn rumour isn't it?
Killzone 3? In 2010? Seriously...?? KZ2 took years to develop! Even granted that they can slash the development time of a new title now from working on KZ2, it still doesn't justify a 2010 release window. Sure theres a chance KZ3 might be ANNOUNCED in 2010 but certainly not released.
Resistance 3 is a given. The time inbetween the development and release of the previous title fits nicely. We'll definately see some announcement for that in 2010. I'm looking forward to this particularly.

^^
Its "couldn't care less"
how can so many people be dumb enough to make that stupid mistake, it doesn't even make sense.

Here is my sentence, if you had deemed to actually read the whole line:
"I could care less about any FPS on the PS3, BUT NOT BY MUCH."
Obviously I DO care a little about FPS's on the PS3, as I'm posting about it. I just don't like being forced to play them with a controller.
So STFU, and go correct somebody who actually made a mistake.

Heck, I didn't even say the games OR controllers were bad, I just said I didn't like using a controller, and compared the PS3/Xbox360 to the PC.
You people are harsh.

Couldn't bother to read past this. The game has sold something like 2 million units to date. That isn't a failure by any stretch of the word. Some games don't even break 1 million or even 500k sometimes. They made huge profits with KZ2 and the expansion packs that also did very well. A sequel is well warranted.
Go back to your master pc gaming race you pompous ass.

Its fairer than PC gaming. Imagine running crysis on a PC which was released at the same time of the game release, you would hardly get 30Fps. Now though onboard graphics can probably outrun that.
Would you spend 500-600 dollars every 3 weeks to play one game? If you can tell me where you live, ill take your old computer.
Dude just go to sleep.

Second off, did you know I bought my card 2 years ago? Did you know that Nvidia supports (or at least has) drivers for cards all the way back to the Geforce 4 MX? ATI has stuff all the way back to its Rage cards in legacy drivers.
Or were you talking about buying new cards? Newegg has Geforce 2 cards for sale and Radeon 7000 cards for sale. No, Nvidia and ATI don't market those cards anymore, they're old and they've moved on (you know, sorta like Sony doesn't market the PS1 and to an extent, the PS2 anymore). On Nvidia's site, you can still compare a few 8000 series cards to see what you need. Didn't bother to check ATI's site extensively.
Fairness? You're talking about the console being fair? So, my 2-year-old video card (which admittedly came out about a year after the PS3) that can WAY outperform the console is considered "unfair?" I'm running just about all games except crysis at highest settings with at least 2x AA at 1920x1200, and that's unfair? Sure, it's a little bit more money than a console... but you get so much more in my opinion.
Console games this generation are apparently stuck at an internal resolution of 1280x720, with no or limited AA, no options on controls, no options on internet gameplay, and very few if any options on modding. You call THAT fair?
Actually, one redeeming quality of the consoles is that games are actually having to be optimized better, meaning older hardware CAN run newer games at acceptable framerates and resolutions.
Now, just to make sure everyone understands me, I DON'T HATE THE PS3. I'm one of those people that just can't play FPS's on a controller. It's not usually the games fault, it's simply a limitation in my own motor capacity and the console's options. So my consoles are almost exclusively RPGs and 3rd person action/platforming games. Plus, my PS3 is a heck of a lot more portable than lugging around my computer tower and monitor everywhere (heh, the PS3 is portable).
Everything I said here is a mashup of facts (dates, video settings, prices) and opinion (this one's better, no this one.)
