A partial track list for Guitar Hero: Van Halen, one of the many upcoming entries in Activision's lucrative cash-cow franchise, has apparently been leaked. Don't take this as gospel folks. Activision hasn't announced anything official, so we're tagging this as a rumor for now. Here it is:
  • AinÂ’t TalkinÂ’ ‘Bout Love
  • Dope Nose by Weezer
  • I Want It All by Queen
  • Jump
  • Panama
  • Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind
  • The Takedown by Yellowcard
  • You Really Got Me
  • And the Cradle Will RockÂ…
  • Unchained
  • Atomic Punk
  • Somebody Get Me a Doctor
  • Everybody Wants Some!!
  • RunninÂ’ with the Devil
  • Little Guitars
  • Spanish Fly
  • Cathedral
  • Eruption
The game will ship with a total of 44 tracks -- 25 from the band and 19 from other artists. I'm not knocking Guitar Hero fans here, but I find it a bit sad that this console game will ship with only 3 songs more than the handheld Rock Band Unplugged. You can do better than that, Activision.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen is slated for a Holiday release on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

I'm so tired of all these new Guitar Hero games. why not make it dlc?

eh what you expect from Activision, the company that releases a rehashed CoD every year.

You're tagging it as a rumor then why are you stating the track amount as a fact, Karl B.?

I partially agree with the people saying it should be DLC, but at the same time the PC versions of GH don't have DLC and neither does the PS2. I'm going to be getting it for the PS2, because, well, I always download the newest GH and RB games. HA!

» um...

the ps2 has been obsolete for some time now... but no one bothered to tell it (or consumers) that.

» well

even though it's obsolete, the large consumer base that hasn't yet upgraded to next gen will be happy and it shows the PS2 is still profitable.

» Pfft

I have all current and previous gen systems, the only reason I use the PS2 for the current GH and RB games is because they're easy to pirate on the PS2. Not to mention the fact that I already had the instruments for that system. AND it's the only system where the instruments are compatible both ways. It has nothing to do with consumers for me, or it being obselete. Until they stop making the games, or stop making them on the PS2, I'll continue to download them for the PS2.
