Rumor: Eidos to publish classic title Wacky Races for Nintendo Wii?

Rumor: Eidos to publish classic Wacky Races for Nintendo Wii? - Image 1

If we are to believe the listing found over at online rental store GameFly, it seems that Nintendo Wii gamers will be able to get an updated version of the title Wacky Races.

According to the store, it is being published by Eidos Interactive. We looked around the Internet and found nothing about this title. So we are assuming that this is the same one that was first released in 1992 for multiplatforms.

One of the most notable builds, however, was the one for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Basically, Wacky Races is a racing game based on an animated television series from Hanna Barbera.

It features a group of 11 different cars in various road rallies. The interesting thing here is that the stars of the series are the villains and not the heroes. As of this writing, both Nintendo and Eidos have yet to comment if the listing is accurate or not.
