Matt Casamassina of IGN managed to get his hands on the most recent specs on the Revolution from unnamed, reliable sources. Although we can't say for sure if these are 100% correct, these numbers are probably very close to what Revolution developers will be working with.IBM's "Broadway" CPU is clocked at 729MHz, which is a significant improvement from the Gamecube's 485 MHz. The ATI powered "Hollywood" GPU clocks in at 243MHz, which is faster than both Gamecube's 162MHz and Xbox's 233MHz. Lastly, the Revolution will have 88MBs of total system RAM, not including the GPU's on-board 3MBs. For a more in-depth look at some of the Revolution's hardware components, be sure to check out the full article.

If you want a boring console with WORLD WAR 2: YET ANOTHER CLONE or SUPER FLASHY RACER 12, possibly GENERIC SUPER FIGHTERS 3 then buy those consoles.

Sad, I really liked nintendo...

Also those aren't finalized specifications, and it's all down to the actual processor, just looking at raw figures doesn't show ***** about the console. The Intel Pentium-M processor, at only 1.5 Ghz can outperform a 3Ghz Celeron in games, but oh the Celeron is double the Ghz! Sadly it isn't that simple and if you don't understand how it works, google it and find out.
Both the XBOX360 and Revolution processors were made by the same company also, don't forget.

i also feel like it would be nice if rev. was more powerful as then they could implement more intereseting fun things... it may have the odd special game but they won't be the awesome next gen things we might be hoping for.
i think they have to consider that either a lot of people will buy it purely on what the games look like, or on how it's perceived as the 'poor man' of the 3. lets face it, they say it's not in direct competition cos it's different, but who's going to get 2 consoles for christmas?

I for one is fine with the fact that it will not support HD but I will be damned if I am going to invest in a system that graphically does differentiate itself from the previous gen. All that I have seen from Nintendo plans for REvo I am happy with. But a great improvement in graphics is a must.
NEED MORE MEMORY THAN 88MB…I EXPECT THE MINIMUM OF 128MB

to the guy on the mario subject..... I agree, the original mario kicked ass but anything after that was a 5h177y knock off.

Also the big N hasn't been in this buisness for over twenty years by not knowing what they are doing. Yeah we have made a few mistakes, but thats bloody buisness. This console is about ease of use, new and innovative games, and having fun. It's not about who's got the fastest machine.
I promise you there are going to be things about the Rev that have not been shown to the public yet that will validate and have you blow a wad in your shorts. Till then have fun hating.

for rev. :
ps2 wasn't the best looking system and it sold loads so there is a case for the system which doesn't look best doing good business.
if you were to visit someone's house and then find they had this cool little box where you could play all the games of your childhood or others with that weird magic wand controller and then find it only costs $150 you might go out and get one... unlike the ps3 or xbox254
mario and metroid etc should sell rev quite well, also who's going to rule out a nintendogs on the rev?
against rev:
people who know just a little about videogames, or those who know nothing - as in parents of small kids or small kids themselves - will go with the system which is shiniest and 'best' and according to the kids on the playground the system with the shiniest graphics and most gory games will be that system.
there are some must have games already pencilled in for ps3, and unless we see some good nintendo ip and can get excited then we'll not join in the rev hype.
i don't like the idea of using sd cards on rev, it sounds like a real slap dash, slip shod way of doing it. although sd cards are dirt cheap.

It really does show you, when people like Iwata release important information like this, who the real gamers are and who the clueless ones are.

Secondly to Diego, if you look at the revolution strickly from your standpoint Nintendo has already won. There will be a library of THOUSANDS of games available for it at launch, and consequently I would buy a revolution if that were the only fascet of gaming it offered. I would most certainly pay 150-200 dollars to play any game from Nin, Sega, or from the Turbo Graphix 16 that came out in the last 20 years alone. So check your facts and try thinking before you open youe mouth again.

Sony cannot stay "the most popular", and the things they're doing with the Playstation brand don't help.
Getting sued by the company that made their Dual Shock technology didn't help.
Their other technology (TV's etc) not doing well.....
Some companies pulling out of UMD production all together.....
PSP game sales not exactly through the roof.....
PS3 costing an arm and a Leg to manufacture, let alone sell....
I could go on. Sony's console years are Numbered.
