Resident Evil Code Veronica Wiimake Planned, Capcom Hints - Image 1

With the release of Resident Evil 5 (PS3, 360) so close that you can almost smell the zombie halitosis, a new rumor got churned out of the mill that Code Veronica will be getting a remake for the Wii. The rumor started when Matt Dahlgren, Capcom's product manager, commented on the tail end of an interview that:

Nothing is planned for Code Veronica regarding a remake on PSN/XBLA, but what I can say is if you are a fan of Code Veronica you should pay attention in the next couple of weeks there is some news you should be very pleased with. Tell him to pay attention on the 12th (March).

RE5 producer Masachika Kawata mentioned a while back that Capcom wanted to do a new Wii title for the RE universe, which led to speculation that Dahlgren was hinting at a remake for Code Veronica. Of course, it could just as easily be anything else. A prequel, a sequel, maybe even a midquel.

At any rate, if you're a Code Veronica fan, you have something to look forward to.

I don't know why you're complaining, Wii has just been getting spin-offs and Remakes/ports. While PS3/X360 are getting RE5, the 360 isn't getting any special treatment from Capcom...better look at other companies.

For once the Wii is getting some attention a Remake/New spin-off (again but at least not a port), and if it's a CV Remake I'll welcome it with very open arms. XD

Actually the 360 IS getting special treatment. They got the RE5 demo early and STILL have Dead Rising exclusive.

I doubt that is going to be that way for long, since the it's not an exclusive anymore...it's in the Wii. Also look at Lost Planet, it was once an X360 exclusive now it's on PS3.

Early RE5 demo was only for Gold members for just a week...if you're going to analyze trivial things like that you might as well take into account that RE5's bonus discs are going to be HD since they're Blu-ray and we got a space in home that represents the main shanty town from RE5 with exclusive features accessible after you own the game (or play at least) soon to be revealed and we are getting RE5 clothing for home characters.

What else can you ask for?

Port over a 9 year old game? Oh yes this is the Wii section.
