Resident Evil 4 for the Wii - proposed Wii control scheme - Image 1

Okay, straight off from the official Capcom site for Resident Evil 4 confirmed coming to the Wii, a full page photo control scheme shows how a Wii gamer could take out flesh-eating zombies, reload their weapon and even slash out with a knife in close-combat encounters with a decaying groaner.

According to Siliconera, the A button remains as the all-purpose action button and the B button is the cancel button. And when you aim at a target, the targeting reticule turns green so you're given an indication of probably accuracy. Other control schemes are defined below:
  • Reloading: while pressing the B button, shake the Wiimote from side-to-side
  • Knife slash: shake Wiimote from side-to-side, hopefully with actual motion control and corresponding slash effects
  • 180-degree turn: press Z while pressing up or down on the stick
Capcom stayed with the trusty Wiimote-nunchuk combo for this Wii-specific remake of Resident Evil 4, instead of going zapper-style with the Wii Blaster for a more arcade feel of the title. But then moving around would have had to be a rail-type deal, so it's Wiimote for the win!
