GCBooter v1.0 released - Image 1From emu_kidid comes a new bit of homebrew that'll let you load GameCube games while in Wii mode. As the Wiibrew website describes it, GCBooter is "a simple application which allows anyone to boot their original GC games from Wii mode. It is region free and works from the homebrew channel."

Here are the (very simple) instructions on how to use GCBooter:

Just copy the GCBooter folder into your /apps/ folder on your card and run it via the homebrew channel. Insert your GameCube disc and press A on the GameCube controller a few times.

Again, we suggest you consult the readme for installing and using this application. That said, the source code has also been included in this release, so those of you who want to learn from it can do so. Enjoy!

» region free gc

If I read this properly it allows region free playing of gamecube games. Yeah we could have used freeloader discs before but nintendo firmware updates blocked this so this is a solution around this. Havent tried it myself yet but may do so as usin a PAL Wii but have US version of resident evil zero and wouldn't mind dustin it off and havin a play via my Wii instead of havin to plug my old GC in again and tryin to find my freeloader disc.
