Disco music? Check. Tacky costumes? Check. Eyebrows raised? Check.

BUT, before you whine about Rayman 4 being merely a party game, the disco music and tacky costumes are optional, people. These will be featured in the game as bonuses that you can unlock and will be offered to you by rabbits, along with other objects of comfort for your cell...all depending on your rate of success.

The game has two principal modes - the first one is the story mode (which is organized virtually into fifteen days) and you begin in your cell for each day. Things can be very sinister at the start that's why they have bonuses that you can unlock if you're successful in going through the game. From your slammer, you can enter the Rabbit Arena, where you wait for the events. You can attempt five mini-games each day - four events and one boss encounter. The second mode allows you to freely replay the games either by yourself or multiplayer!

In an interview that Nintendo Magazine scored with Adrien Lacey, the game designer, the latter revealed that they wanted to make a classical platformer and not mini-games, but when they received the Wii dev kits, they decided to go with a party game that would probably be optimal for the Wii controls. Lacey also revealed that some mini-games in Rayman are very short, around 10 seconds or so. The game designer said that the final version of Rayman 4 will have around seventy mini-games, which will be spread out in different worlds.
