Rare to be Rare on Revolution |

The Game Developer's Conference has revealed much sought-after information about the Nintendo Revolution Virtual Console. However, not all news has been good news. Although Sega and Hudson are now confirmed to have games downloadable with the Virtual Console service, Rare is not. IGN caught up with a few Rare and Microsoft representatives and it seems that games that Rare owns the rights to will not be seeing the light of day on the Virtual Console. This means that games like Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Jet Force Gemini, and Perfect Dark will not be downloadable on Revolution while games like Donkey Kong 64 will.| This story sucks? This story rocks! |

Other than that, I say big deal, If you really want to play Rare N64 games that badly then buy an N64, you can get them for like £15 from gamestation with a game. The rest of the N64 games that will be available are more than enough to keep me from shedding a tear for Rare. They're old news now.

While there are all kinds of "stupidity" comments I could make about the lack of proper spelling, capitalization, or punctuation in your comment, I think the comment itself says it all.
Selling off Rare to Microsoft was a great move on Nintendo's part. Everyone in their right mind could see that Rare had jumped the shark. Conker's Bad Fur Day was pretty much the peak of that jump, and it was all downhill from there. Look at games like Donkey Kong 64 and Star Fox Adventures if you don't believe me.
Are you saying that Nintendo should have kept Rare around to make games like Grabbed By The Ghoulies, Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo? Let's face it, the games really weren't that great, and the only reason that Perfect Dark Zero did nearly as well as it did in sales is because of the name recognition from the N64 game.
Nintendo, just like everybody else, saw that Rare had jumped the shark, and quickly sold them off to the highest bidder before they did any more damage under their name.
