Queens of the Stone Age - Image 1While RedOctane's Guitar Hero III game isn't planned to arrive until Fall (according to IGN), that doesn't mean we won't be seeing a glimpse of the bands set  to be playing the game's tunes. There's a press wire going around that Queens of The Stone Age - a hard rock band, will have their music featured in GH III, as well as the similarly themed Rock Band game by Harmonix for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

This marks The Queens of the Stone Age as the first officially announced band for either title.

And while there is no information on which tracks will be used for this latest GHIII-related news, it's also been reported that the band will be releasing their latest album, titled Era Vulgaris, this June 12. On the gaming side of this announcements, the band's songs will also be featured in Madden 08 and NASCAR 08.

So does this mean that they're switching from bad covers to real licensed songs? Hope so...

Because that will really help their screwball pricing structure. Run an get your cameras, so you can document the death of a franchise.
