Quantum of Solace arrives November 4, pre-orders get map pack - Image 1Quantum of Solace (360, PS3, Wii) has received an official release date from Activision. Expect the game to hit shelves on November 4 for North America.

Better get yourself a pre-order as well; those who do will get access to a multiplayer map pack for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Since the game runs on the same engine as Call of Duty 4, I'm betting that map pack's worth getting. That image above is concept art from one of the maps.

Aside from the map pack, Best Buy is giving you another reason to pre-order: a US$ 10 discount on any James Bond DVD release.

Why are games limiting content now..if they've made the maps why dont they just give them to everyone since they actually PAID for the game

If companies are going to keep doing this i'm going to chip my xbox and download their games

why should we pay extra money for the normal work they put into the game

its the game that is for sale, not the map pack. They are offering that as an incentive to pre-purchase. The thing is, if you pre-purchase it means they can count that sale towards the first day earnings. So it makes the game have a larger release sales figure. Which in the end will generate buzz so that the guys who are NOT watching for the game will hear about it.

This tacktick is nothing new. And I dont see how you can complain about buying the game. Buy the game, get the game and play it. if you didnt know there was a map pack you would not miss it. The game still stays the same.

Besides. If its a pack for the multiplayer they HAVE to make the maps available to everyone online, otherwise how are you gonna play against other people on it??
