PS3 has outsold the Wii in Japan? |
Ó
While powering its way to the top of the charts, the PS3 continues to eye bigger mountains to scale and conquer. The recent Sony sales surge certainly rocketed the console up, but the next mountain is one that has stood firm for the last few years and will be tougher to climb than all the PS3's previous hurdles - this mountain is Mount Wii. Following the latest figures, it seems that the PS3 may have gotten slightly ahead of the Wii in terms of sales in Japan for the year.
Japan hardware sales from January 4th to Oct 24th, 2009:
- Wii: 1,012,924
- PS3: 1,006,810
- Xbox 360: 284,943
Estimates for next week's sales charts, January 4th to Nov 1st, 2009:
- PS3: 1,044,310
- Wii: 1,038,924
- Xbox 360: 294,943
If these estimates are correct, then the PS3 may have really gotten ahead of the Wii in Japan for the year. This would be another bad first for the Wii - the first time it would not come out on top on yearly sales.

PS3 - 25,750,000
I agree, what exactly does Nintendo need to "get together"? LOL

But you get my point, Wii at this moment in time, is leading by miles but the PS3 is covering meters.
If Sony wants to get ahead, they should think about buying a few developers off.
BTW Im a PS3 biased person, but i have to sometimes give a fair view or ill get unhappy faces

The warranty from MS is waaay better than sony's warranty. If your console gets rrod(if its within 3 years of purchase) you get a free xbox, free 1 month live, and shipping's free. Hmm should i start on sony's warranty process XD
And yes japan is not really important. Wow the 360 isn't on top in japan -_- no *****ing *****. Japan isn't the main marketing place.

Wow firstly the 360 doesn't make sales from the failrate, retard. Consoles that were given because of rrod aren't counted, dude. Only purchased consoles count"
bit stupid you calling someone a retard when you think like one.

PS: I can't believe an article about PS3 and Wii turned into a fanboy war between X360 and PS3...

I hope they got that crap under control. But we wont know for sure until another year passes.
@ lolwut - That is certainly YOUR opinion. You are entitled to it. But just realize that over 55 MILLION PEOPLE disagree with you.
I know people that bought a Wii for nothing more then Wii Sports. Not everyone wants what you want.

If you bought the console today and do not like (can't get your money back) it then you are an idiot for buying it. Consider this a LESSON LEARNED in buying consumer products.

"If you bought the console and you didn't like it then sell it and get most of your money back if not MORE.
If you bought the console today and do not like (can't get your money back)."
That's a little confusing. Do you mean that you could get your money back if you bought the console in the past? (only see present in both) If not, that means someone would be caught in a paradox of getting money and not getting money! WHOA!!! +p

If you're someone who bought it today and doesn't like it...good luck getting your money back for a used system. Stores usually have stock now.
