How does the title Prince of Persia 4: Ghost of the Past sound to you? We know it's exciting to hear but the thing is, we came across this rumor from a relatively unknown blog owned by a certain "Surfer Girl." Her claims seem to hold some water because of two never-before-seen screenshots she posted.
According to the said blogger, the game will be released during the second half of 2008 on platforms PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, and Xbox 360. It is supposedly being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and will serve as a prequel to the trilogy. Surfer Girl added the following notes:
The second title scheduled to come out in summer 2009 to capitalize on the release of The Sands of Time feature film. Stylistically and gameplay-wise, the game has abandoned the dark edginess of the last two titles in favor a fantastical cross between The Sands of Time, Ico and Zelda.
Quite interestingly, one anonymous reader dropped in a comment and said that he/she used to work with Ubisoft Montreal. The reader commented that the screenshots are the stuff being worked on by the company. It was also mentioned that the white glowy figure in the screenshots is a female while Prince Amir is the one nearer to the dark walls.
Ubisoft Montreal, however, has yet to comment on these rumors.

PoP is an amazing series. One of my more favorite game series out right now. I hope this little tid bit is true :)
Oh I didn't even know they were working on a movie, has the director of it or any actors been announced?
i hope those screens are for the wii version... because they look like *****! otherwise, they're fake because ubisoft would never make screens for a game looking that bad
1st, it's looking like nariko! :S
2nd, it's ugly while the last pop team game is assassin's creed (looking awesome)
3rd, the team is working on assassin's creed (polishing the details) and they think of doing an assassin's creed 2, this would mean no prince of persia (at least not by the official team)
4th, this is not anywhere on the net and rumors like that would be everywhere.
5th, it took 3 years to complete assassin's creed, so NO they are not working on a next gen pop game that would be released in less than a year!
finally: if it's real (wich I don't think), it's gonna be on DS or PSP, nothing more! (maybe wii at most)
