Porn game company to bypass ESRB, Sony, Ninty, MS; to create own adult game industry |

D-Dub Software, a video game studio specializing in adult-themed games that involve a lot of *ahem* explicit sex and nudity (i.e. BoneTown, a PC game which makes GTA's Hot Coffee mod look not-so-Hot-after-all), is waging war against the ESRB and the three major console manufacturers.Since D-Dub can't market their game out in the open, they're now on a mission to take the first step in what they hope to be an eventual "adult video game industry."
Their first step is basically to squeeze past ESRB, Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. Trying to avoid the ESRB's grasp may be understandable given their situation, but why include the console manufacturers, you ask? As some of you may know, the big three aren't quite friendly in licensing Adults Only (AO) games for their console.
D-Dub's CEO commented the following:
It doesnÂ’t make sense. The ratings boards are not telling us that these games arenÂ’t for kids. We know that already. What theyÂ’re telling us is that adult games shouldnÂ’t exist at all. We donÂ’t agree, and neither does our customer base of adults who are interested in games that might include themes like sex, drugs, and language. Since theyÂ’ve made it so that games like ours canÂ’t be marketed and distributed through the channels other video games use, we are starting a new industry to get this game out to our customers.
Their move now is to push for online sales. "Through the channels other video games use" basically means retail. On top of the ESRB and the big three hounding AO titles, retailers themselves will hardly touch them, leaving the Internet as the only viable option for releasing BoneTown.

For Example:
If you don't like Violent games don't buy GTA. If you don't like porn games don't buy BoneTown. Just don't try to tell D-Dub or Rockstar they can't make their game cause you don't think it's right.

Why did "biggest porn industry worldwide" come to my mind right now?

The only place you would be able to get an Adult Only game would be the PC and just about every retail store and credible online stores refuse to sell games with that rating. Thus the only option would be digital download - which - without being backed by a big service will just fail.

They really don't need reputable sites to sell this stuff, there are plenty of adult sites that they can sell their stuff on, hell amazon.com sells porn, so why not porn games...maybe they do already, I havn't checked for games
Considering at least half if not more of 360/ps3 owners are adults, and lots of them want adult rated games, this really should be a no brainer.....just don't have the games displayed on the shelf of Gamestop.....sell them online, or make it so you have to ask the cashier for it....

I know, sounds just like I'm trying to sell you something, but I doubt the Open Pandora team's bothered by games like this...

maybe using a 25 digit serial key so you show you've paid when they update the core for 5.10m33, 5.20m33 and so forth

I wouldn't want to see video porn though. I want to see quality games with a few adult themes like God of war was.
not like leasure suit larry or playboy mansion.
make a good game first, then add some adult content. don't make an adult theme game thats just a bunch of video game characters having sex and flashing each other just to make a quick buck.
I think I speak for a lot of us when i say we can get our porn almost anywhere.

ANYWAY.... The "Comics Code" was just the god of all gods when it came to comics. If you didn't have their seal then you were publishing trash and were catering to the sleezes of society.
Now look at it... They are once again busting away from a "CODE" and going to full blown novels. They call them "Graphic Novels" now, which I suppose makes them immune to the laws of the frigid housewives?
They contain adult language and themes as well as more gore than a chum festival off the back of a fishing boat.
So what is the ****ing difference? Its have never caused the world to stop rotating and had it not been for tits, some of us wouldn't be here right now.
Leisure Suit Larry had his turn in the barrel and still made a profit for somebody, this won't be any different.
All the Quakers out there need to stop fearing what lurks in their trousers and start living a little.

Second, it is ridiculous to say that these games would not have a consumer base.
Third, it's just sex.
Finally, is it possible to buy D-Dub software stock?

i get smut-filled, but what is "crap-master"?
if you are indeed an adult, then you should be mature enough to leave the name calling at the door and address the ideas...
just like the legions of people chomping at the bit to buy those GGW dvds, or calling phone sex lines, or paying prostitutes... none of which i have done (or have talked with any friends that will admit it), but that doesn't mean there isn't a market for it.
just because i have no interest in your little big planet, and none of my friends give a "crap-master" doesn't mean anyone who says different has a nefarious scheme to corrupt the youth of the world with "***** levels" and "sack" boys...

(MA15 can contain very very VERY small nudity, such as God of War)
