Poll: retailers expect Wii to sell better than PS3 |
Ó

Over at the retailing la-la-land, a survey done by Enterbrain surfaced, showing how they expect to see the Wii clearing out the decks of the PS3 flagship. Sony's console seems to be struggling for air. But before anything else, we'll cut to the chase and flash the results first. Here's the poll:
1. Which new console will sell better this holiday season?
Wii: 88%
PS3: 11%
2. Including all hardware, which system will generate the most sales?
60.7% Nintendo DS,
32.8% Nintendo Wii
3.3% PS2
1.6% PS3
1.6% Xbox 360
Do understand that this is just a poll - a survey. We're not saying that the results are not reliable, and neither are way saying that they reflect reality. And if you'd remember, there were two other polls taken, asking almost the same questions: one after E3, and another after the TGS. Those surveys raked in very different numbers.
Now comes your input. We want to know (once again) what you think. Comment below and speak your mind.

i think the wii will win, but not that well...
That is a ridiculous number. First, there will be more Wii's out no? Well lets look at this logically. The PS3 is most likely going to sell out. The demand is high and the supply is low ... or will be low at first. This most likely means that most if not all shipments will be purchased. The wii most likely will have a lot of sellings, but it also has a lot more wii's coming in. Based on that fact alone, the Wii will get more sellings. More systems = more possible systems sold = higher chance of selling more and making more money.
Its common sense. However, who knows, I mean with the Ps3 coming out a few days before the Wii maybe the consumer will not have enough for a Wii. Anxiety gets the better of people and they want next gen NOW
"Anxiety gets the better of people and they want next gen NOW"
if that were true then people would have already bought the xbox 360 since it's already out, and has been out for a year
That is very true. Lots of people have gotten a 360 or still plan on getting one. People who got a 360 are not excluded from people who buy a ps3 or a wii in addition to their 360.
The Wii will win this holiday season. Sony has guarenteed them victory by limiting the PS3 to only 500,000 units. Because of price and availability, the Wii will be the hottest item in Xmas of '06. I'm positive the half million PS3's will sell, though. As for 2007 and beyond, who knows? The PS3 may overtake the Wii and 360 as time goes on (though I personally hope not).
I guess there assuming that both ps3 and wii will sell out. thatd probably be close the the percentages that they have
I am part sony fanboy, part nintendo fanboy because i own products from both companies. Even though i like the PS3 over the Wii. I will have to agree with most people that the Wii will remain supreme this holiday season. One, because the Wii will be shipping more consoles and there are 2 million pre-ordered already. Two, becasue of the price and the price of the games. Three, because kids will be asking there parents for one since Nintendo reaches better to Children. Even though nintendo is turning itself around and meeting the needs of older people. Four, Nintendo will be releasing a lot of good quality games this coming gen unlike the previous one. Gamecube didnt do as well as i thought.
