Pics of Wii accessories that aren't so sexy |
Ó

See? Sexy, white, simple, minimal, and with glowy blue... "ooh" lights.
Amusingly, the other peripherals (unlike the one on top) don't look
that nice when in the "wild". After the jump you'll see untreated pics
of the Wii sensor bar, nunchuk controller, console stand, power supply, and
composite cable. Sexy or not, these are the things that come with the
box, so even if they're not that pleasing to look at, you still get an
idea how the entire package looks like.

this compared to the xbox360's power supply... pfft, now thats ugly, besides they still look sexy, anyways what'd you expect, a console that floats on clouds?
Whenever Nintendo shows the Wii, it's always just the system or Wiimote. But after seeing the sensor bar, the huge power supply, etc. I'm a little worried about how well this will fit with the rest of my AV equipment. Why can the PS3 have an internal power supply, but we have to get this giant brick. I mean, where are we supposed to put all this stuff?
I'm really not sure if I want a Wii anymore. It looks great in pics, but with all this extra stuff, it's gonna look really ugly.
the power supply looks to be the same size as the gamecubes, rough ly. the sensor bar will probably be hardly noticed on top of tv's and the nunchuck still looks dang good.
who cares what the power supply and composite cables looks like anyway? since when have cable had to look sexy to influence what whether or not you get a console?
not that sexy, but i'd still hit it
nothing wrong with that dunno wat ur whinging about.
ive never seen so many wires in my life...but whatever i guess ill have to tim gunn it and "make it work".
Really really sexy! And the Nunchuk looks much more greater now!
Come on, people! "So many wires"? It's just one single additional wire for the sensor bar! And even less wires if you don't count in the nunchuck plug. Huge power supply? I disagree. Ugly looks? Judged on the additional components? Really now, get a life and do some reality checks...
That think looks smaller than the GameCube's
There may be many of them but remember when you used to have 4 controllers in the camecube? And it would even get worse if you had extentions on it. The sensor bar has so many pobly cuz they dont know how far ppl will place the wii from their tvs. if you dont want it then take a electical course and take a wak out of it. (not that id advise doing that in the first place:)
What the hell were you expecting? Gold plated cables?
ur an idiot. u decide if u buy a system by how it looks and how the accesories work. the wii is the sexiest console.
is not sexy but it still makes me to buy one
Who thinks a piece of plastic is sexy?
What a useless topic for an article. Of course the accessories aren't going to look like they came out of a fashion magazine, who cares.
Just an FYI about number 2: for every insignificant piece of Wii news there's someone who comments "Oh, well now I'm not going to buy one." These people are full of ***** and weren't going to buy it in the first place. They just want to make other people think Nintendo's losing business, which I find pretty funny, because if the Wii was as terrible as those people said, Nintendo would lose business without their help. Doesn't that show that people like #2 actually think the Wii will be successful, thus negating their intentions?
Seriously, I was getting confused when I first read this, and some other posts I've read after coming from Kotaku, and "via kotaku" does have its merits, especially with giving some link traffic to kotaku.
Regardless, your headline usage makes me think that if this article was given as an assignment in a college english class, you might have been given a 0 for plagiarism.
Yes, I understand that they said the pictures for the article came from chinagba, but they still came up with their own headline for it.
Does anyone else agree that "aren't so sexy" and "unsexy" are way too similar for a headline of essentially the same article? Im not even saying this because I think it's "bad", or "unfair", but rather because it's just damn unprofessional.
How does plagiarism have ANYTHING to do with comments? Or are you just bored and wanted to waste our time reading a comment like that?
So the Wii has a power brick but the ps3 just has a plain cord. Well that may be but the ps3 is about three times the size of the Wii to get that internal power supply for ya... I'd rather have it on the cord so I can put that where I want instead of making room on a shelf for that mosterus thing.
I don't get the unsexy part. So what they are behind your TV anyways. You never see them except when you first plug it in. The senser bar looks easy enough to find a spot for it. My TV has a stand for it and it'll fit very nice in there. Or if you don't have a good TV you can easily find a local for it.
Good stuff none the less I'm looking forward to it
