Perrin Kaplan, Marketing vice president for Nintendo of America - Image 1It's an undeniable fact that Halo 3 by Bungie Studios for the Xbox 360 is a an overwhelming success. Now, is there a chance that the widely popular game will be ported over to Nintendo's popular console?

When asked if Nintendo is willing to let Bungie develop a Wii game, Nintendo's outgoing marketing vice president Perrin Kaplan only has this to say: "We don't have any plans to reach out to them at this juncture. No, NintendoÂ’s got itÂ’s hands full."

Well, that could be the end of the idea of a Halo game in the Wii. But there's still a remote possibility, however, though Kaplan said that it's hard to say if Nintendo really needs a Bungie title in the Wii library.

As for the much-awaited (and much-delayed) September surprise from Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, Kaplan gave a big hint: Fils-Aime never indicated which year the September surprise will be announced.

Will it be next year's September, then? Sounds like a long wait, but you can count on us to keep you informed as soon as we get more information.

» LAME Comment!

I am no Halo fan (I actually think it's borring), but to say that the Wii doesn't need a bungie title is a very lame statement! There are plenty of Wii players out there besides me that would want it.

Can the Wii survive with just the usual washed up mario kid's games? I guess Nintendo has an ego problem now.

Give me a break! What kind of piss poor damage control excuse is that? If I was a Wii owner (than god I'm not) I'd be pissed! How many years must Wii owners be left hoping for some big suprise? This is worse than Sony's notoriously bad PR from last year. Faking Wii shortages, lying about big suprises, huge undeserved ego, I can't wait until the Wii boom plunges into oblivion!

» Dude....

Dang dude, your biasness at the end of your statement totally destroyed your argument. "This is worse than Sony's...", "Faking shortages", "Lying" opinions are irrelevant to your arguments on this Bungie story. Now I agree that Perrin Kaplan's response was egotistical (Again, just my opinion), but seriously we have enough "Console Haters" here, and these comments should have some relevance to the posted topic. Not just mindless rants..... +\

Don't give MCS your precious time... he's the Wii forum Troll around here and probably can't get any attention from girls or anybody in the real world for that matter, so he parks his butt in front of the computer and attempts to degrade companies (as if his opinions matter to a multi-billion dollar corporation and their marketing direction).

If he was intelligent, maybe he'd realize that making himself look like a fool for attention on a gaming related thread only proves that his only existence here is only for destructive purposes or comic relief and apparently can't get that attention elsewhere. Pathetic isn't it, Billie?

The "Wii boom" will plunge into oblivion about the same time as when PS3 owners realize that next gen doesn't always mean better graphics. It must really piss off PS fanboys that Nintendo's "kiddie" machine is kicking their ass.
