Peter Moore made headlines when he publicly advocated the Nintendo Wii. Later on, wanting to look like the "better man" as well, Phil Harrison said the same thing. They both think that Wii would perfectly complement their own systems. Well, what does Nintendo have to say about this? Perrin Kaplan talks about this whole "Wii60" and "PSWii" alliance systems.
I find it interesting that you mentioned just a minute ago about the Xbox 360 and making a mild comparison. Earlier this week, Peter Moore said he thought that gamers would buy a Wii in addition to a 360.
The hardcore gamers, the gamers that are their customers, they love to play and they will probably want our system and their system. I do think the casual gamers that we are expanding into will own only one, and it will be ours.
Do you feel that the systems are in any way complimentary?
I think they could be. For a hard core gamer who really wants a plethora of ways to pick from, someone who really wants to spend a lot of time gaming. Yeah, of course I knew Peter. He's one of my favorites in the industry. He's great; a great guy. Known him from the Sega days.
Well, I already know that I'll be getting a Wii first and foremost. I've decided to take a "wait and see" attitude towards the other two. The PS3 looks appealing to my tastes, but the price is just a bit much to swallow. The Xbox 360 has a great online system in place, but the games just don't sound as appealing to me. Then there's the HDTV issue... I think I'll pick up a 360 or PS3 once I actually get an HDTV! But hey, if console makers can actually be open like this, it should make for some good times ahead. Of course, Allard vs Kutaragi should still be as brutal as ever to keep our fanboys happy!

I'm pretty sure that she would mean the PS3 as well as the Xbox 360 when she refers to "their system." Whether the Microsoft and Sony fanboys will admit it or not, they are VERY similar in terms of the gaming experience.
ps3 has japanese games and american games while x360 only gets american games. Since we buy these systems for the games, ps3 is the better choice since it will, end the end, have the most games from Japan and North America.
i want a ps3 first becuase of the game but since the prices are so high all in all with an hdtv, and the wii which if costs 200 i would difinitly pick up, the 360 im not a fan of so far no fun games, im tired of fps games, halo 3 looks cool, but thats not gonna make me buy the system i dotn even playt he old ones on my xbox, lets see the rpg xbox gonna come out with

the Ps3 price is not THAT high. One.. u're getting a Blu-ray player w/ it. which would sell seperate for about $1000 at least... Still.. Ppl should've expected around $399-$499 price range be4 it was revealed.. and now it's only 100 bucks more.. at $599. just save up a bit more... There's 6 months left.... roughly 180 days... for a 100 extra bucks... It's not that hard.
Isn't exactly easy, either..But the price does seem justified. And I agree with #9..some submitters do sound a bit biased.

How can some of you sit here an say that there are no games for the 360. 1) there are already alot of great games, 2) The amount of games in development is incredible, I mean seriously, developers are creating alot of great stuff for this system 3) Allot of the games that are being made for PS3 are also going to be on XBOX, so really whats the difference. There really wasn't anything that was "Oh my god, got to have a PS3 out of E3", and most people feel that way.
wii60 is by far the best combo. you get real live features, real motion sensing controller and these are the 2 companies that actually bothered to innovate this time. sony can kiss my ass.
I didn't want it at first because it had more than I wanted... I didn't want to pay for features I was not sure I would use that much. With time things change so my interest has grown in it. It's now the same with the PS3. I don't have an HDTV and I don't care for Blu-Ray or HDDVD I just want games! If I went for the 360 that is what I would get. For now I feel the same way Rushan S. does. The PS3 looks nice but not sure if I will benefit from it the same way others would. In the end it's about individual needs and finding out what you want in a console. I see no need to rush.

I don't have an Xbox 360, which is why I don't post much on the Xbox 360 blog. I focus on the DS/Wii blogs, but if there's something that has to do with the other systems, I'll post it there. Also, you don't need to own the system to be up-to-date with the news =P

I agree with the other people who've posted...how can you talk sh*t about the 360 AND YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE ONE! I just made the switch from PS2 to 360 at the start of the year, and I absolutely LOVE my 360! And you won't believe how good it looks on a 50" DLP HDTV!!! ITS A MUST HAVE!
