Just like with what happened during Rock Band's launch last year, complaints about failing peripheral controllers are piling over Guitar Hero: World Tour. Activision's latest rhythm-fest was released just last weekend, and already, numerous users have reported guitars and drums not working as they should.

Via Shacknews, we hear that the majority of the complaints were about the drum set supposedly not being receptive enough that it wouldn't register every thwack from the sticks. The guitar peripheral was also reported to not register any strums after a couple of hours' use.

Oh, and just in case you were asking, the complaints encompass peripherals for all platforms of World Tour, namely the Xbox 360, PS2, PlayStation 3, and Wii. Better check up on your instruments and place a call to customer service. We've yet to hear anything official from Activision (let's hope they replace the instruments, just like Harmonix did for Rock Band last year), so we'll keep you guys updated when we get word.

Well the GH3 (brokeback guitar) sukt arse in the craftmanship realm and I was hoping to trade that P.O.S. with the RB1 guitar in to get the newer GH guitar...

Wasn't gonna get the drums anyway... I just hope the guitar is better quality... guess I might wait for the next batch just in case.........

» You should write "RUMOR"

It's almost impossible. I mean, they did controllers for more than 20 years now, they know the drill.

It's possible some might not work properly, dah, like in everything. When it happens, you go back to bestbuy and you say exactly that "It's not working!" Than they will answer: "okay, I'll change it for another one". It's an ancien traditionnal language, but it works. No need to understand to words exactly.

Seriously, there is always some that won't work, and if it's a bunch of guys that says their stuff isn't working it's because a BIG BUNCH of guys bought the game. I mean, if 1 000 000 copies are sold today, I guess we should see more complains that if the game would have sold 1000 copies... (1000 times more complains exactly). That's all.

I'll buy it around the holidays if I can get the money... Not sure. At worse I'll take the guitar bundle since I already have a guitar (1 is good, 2 is better :D)

» not really...

first off, they say complaints are rampant, which is true. - Second, there is an "accaptable" amount that will break, but judging by the complaints iv seen on message boards, its well beyond that point. Prime example - IGN.com has TWO broken guitars that they had to review the game with (issues with the touch-pad). Its never good when major reviewers cant get functional hardware.
