Those who think that the Wii Vitality Sensor is a pretty strange peripheral to have for video games probably haven't heard of the horseback riding peripheral. It's basically an inflatable with a pocket to affix the Wiimote in, and the player would have to ride (and yes, bounce on) it to get it to work. Getting the picture yet? Yeah, I laughed too.

The patent was found in a European patent database, which lists that the inflatable seat may also support riding other animals such as “bulls, camels, elephants, burros, dolphins, whales” and even fictional creatures like “dragons, griffons, unicorns, giant eagles.” Sticking the Wiimote into the slot provided will allow the Wiimote's accelerometers to work the inflatable seat's functions using the accelerometers.

As with all patent-spotting news, this one neither has release info nor images of the final product. We'll have to settle for the little sketches for now, and until (or if) Nintendo announces this one, you can try envisioning yourself bouncing shamelessly in front of your TV.

For now, there's the Vitality Sensor:

I just hate when they leave out the warning photo that shows how some baby could choke on this device.

I just noticed that the person in Fig. 1A is not a baby but a midget with a receding hair line! That's just unexpected!

That's just TOO funny, lol.

It's also funny guys were commenting and saying pate and platelets instead of patent.

What's not funny is that Nintendo just might endorse some crap like this..
