What's white, gray, and Wii all over? Some people think it's the Wiimote package. And others just think of it as a load of bullets. The above pictures surfaced one sunny day in the shores of NeoGAF, and as most other little "packaging" pictures that crop up over the internet, no one seems to know the authenticity of these Wiimote packages.

A couple of people do have some back-up for the pictures' validity though. While thought of as a rumor at first, these packages were actually used in Japan as promotional Wiimotes given out at their press event. Now, knowing this is just a mock-up, Nintendo still has the off-chance that they would change the packaging for its official release.

Safe to say, whether these will be the final packages that the Wiimote will come in, it looks mighty sleek and has a steely shine to it. Reminds us of something that Apple would put out in the market, but still, it works just the same.

Is the strap. The box is very clearly folded-up cardboard or plastic and NOT a Wii Charger stand.

Functional or not, I would have liked to have one. I do hope they stick to simple packaging this time around, so as not to waste resources. They could easily take the simple packaging from iPod products and apply it to Wii products. A small cushioned cardboard box with a thin plastic sleeve is all we need.
