Pachter: Wii HD in Fall 2010

Michael Pachter shares another batch of his opinions in the latest Bonus Round show. This time, he's setting a date for the release of the Wii HD. And it's coming as soon as next year.

Geoff Keighley, host of the show, asked Pachter: "The Wii HD is not coming this year, it's coming next fall right Pachter?" To which Pachter affirmed, "Yes, next fall."

It's no confirmation from Nintendo, but it sure would be good news to those who have been hoping for a hardware upgrade on the Wii.

Your wring about 1 thing, pre orders would not start till it was officially announced by Nintendo, same thing with Sony and MS, when PS3 SLIM was announced, they started pre orders right afterwards. Same thing with GO.

By the way it was already hinted at that WiiHD is coming in 2011 with a new graphics chip and HDMI port. New Xbox is coming in 2012, and PS4 in 2012.

WiiHD is only coming cause alot of people complained that PS3 came with HDMI and a year after 360 came out, it had HDMI added to it and when they found out all systems had HDMI support on them, they wanted Wii to have it aswell.

By the way Nintendo listens to its fans and knows they want HD on there Wii.

Its highly likely to come out in 2011, Pachter said its coming in 2010 but he always gets answers wrong. Dont really think he researched.

New handhelds are coming next year though.

Great. Once it comes out, I'll be able to have a Wii where people don't come to my house and say, "dude, those graphics suck!" I'll be very pleased about that.

the Wii will never be "HD". It is a peice of crap that ships hundreds of ridiculous games nobody likes. It cant even play a CD or DVD. The Wii is a fail of a next-gen console.

MS and Sony want their systems to have a lifespan about 3-4 years longer than that. I don't see any new buzz on a new handheld for next year. Any things to support your claims?

yes just because you got lucky with the price drop (which I still believe it was not entirely necessary) does not make you a fortune teller on the less obvious stuff. Just don't get overly confident.

In order to make a console fall2010 they need to introduce it on the E32010 and that means it is ALREADY been made ready with development tools handed out to developers ARE YOU ON CRACK MAN?

And yet they have sold more units than PS3 and 360 combined and Nintendo are still making money off it and it hasnt dropped in price, a HD version will just drive sales even further ahead of PS3 and 360 and cause another shortage, you're an idiot and your logic is faulty. Majority of households already have a DVD player, why would they need another? When Nintendo make a colsole they do it very carefully and perfectly...ok, so maybe the Gamecube was a bit of a failure but Nintendo STILL made more money off it than Sony and MS did with PS2 and Xbox (PS2 has likely surpassed Gamecube in profit by now though)

well actually

A. dvd's can be plaid on the wii with the installation of DVDX from team twiizers

B. yes ur right there will never be a wii HD b/c it's already been confermed earlyeron in the year that nintendo has stated that they will NEVER make a wii HD that theres no need to the gfx are beautiful on it as is as time has passed sure they where grainy in the past when it started but look at teh games now.

C. wii is still one of the most purchased gaming systems so before ya start wailin on the wii buy one and start playin so u actually know what ur talkin about.

just because something SELLS doesnt mean its something good, coke and marihuana sells more than wii and they are even more a piece of SH.IT than the wii is, i agree with hungryman i have a wii a 360 and a ps3 and the wii is a FAILURE of a next-gen console face the truth and shut up
