Michael Pachter sure is all over gaming news right now. He's been making predictions left and right lately. This time, he predicts that Nintendo will raise its hardware expectations after they release their strong Q3 performance.
“We expect the company to report results close to our estimate for revenue of ¥789 billion, but ¥ 100 – 150/share below our EPS estimate of ¥ 1,033,” he wrote in a research note. "Nintendo's recent operating performance has been spectacular and we expect this to continue in FY:10," he said in another statement.
Right now, Nintendo expects the demand for Wii to be 27.5 million units strong. According to Pachter, however, they will raise that target to 30.5 million units. To avoid Wii shortages, maybe?

Gamecube games were great. They may have been smaller and less graphically impressive, but they were actually games.
Wii games can hardly be called are rediculous. You could take 90% of the Wii game population, mash them all into about 50 games, and nobody would be missing anything. There are only about 10-15 games on the Wii that are worth getting (2 of which haven't been released yet). There are hundreds of Wii games.
I really do hope that they can get there crap straight...
