Pachter: Nintendo may have diverted Wii supply to the U.S. |

Nintendo's magic wand continues its domination in U.S. territories, having sold 425,000 Wii units this July according to NPD. We last heard Nintendo saying supply is unable to keep up with demand, yet the numbers are still steep. For Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, some smart strategy may have been implemented.Big sales and low supply don't add up, or at least Pachter believes. Ninty keeps on racking up these numbers even with supposed shortage. "This increase is inconsistent with reports that Nintendo has had difficulty in increasing its manufacturing capacity," the analyst said.
The answer to this, Pachter reckons, is that "the company has diverted supply from other areas (perhaps Japan) to the U.S." Reports earlier this month were saying that Japanese Wii supply just started normalizing late July, which could very well imply that the land of the rising sun suffered serious shortage before then.

So my guess is that we will see more console on the market, they just tend to sell as fast as usual... and with the holidays comming, people should try to get one as soon as possible.

As you can see with current numbers the sales are only rising for the console, meaning more are available. But they do sell really fast.
Mys suggestion: Big surface stores usually puts the consoles on Sundays (wal-mart, best bu, circuit city) Try going there or call them to confirm this info. You should be able to get one if you go early those days.
I work in a small videogame store and we usually recieve between 2 and 8 per week and usually sell them the same day, or within de morning of the second depending on how much we recieved.
