OPM UK rumors: Crysis coming to PS3, Bioshock 2 multiplayer, - Image 1 The latest Official PlayStation Magazine UK has an all new batch of rumors we can chew on. If just the Crysis and BioShock 2 rumors are true, I'll put out extra cookies for Santa come Christmas. Rumors ahoy!
  • The PS3 2.5 firmware will come with a screen-grab function so you can send game images to friends.
  • Who wants to be the Daddy? The as yet still unannounced Bioshock 2 will have a multiplayer mode.
  • The team at Rockstar Games responsible for the PSP version of The Warriors is working on Max Payne 3.
  • EA will publish the ex-Vivendi project, Jack Black's Brutal Legend.
  • Pandemic's rumoured sandbox-style Batman game has been canceled due to reasons of rubbishness.
  • Like your gore in bite-sized chunks? The sequel to zombie basher Dead Rising will be episodic.
  • Sci-fi shooter Crysis will be coming to PS3 in 2009, and it'll bring a whole load of new content with it.
If there was any justice in the world, they're all true. Except for the one about the sandbox Batman game. Sounded like a novel idea, even if it is "rubbish."

The rumor that Crysis will get ported to the PlayStation 3 is so old that I'm beginning to think it's actually true. What, no loving for the Xbox 360? And BioShock 2 getting multiplayer? Two words. Well, finally. I was also wondering what would happen to Brutal Legend. Hopefully EA does pick it up. Maybe that would give their critics a double-take. Their line-up of games have been pretty impressive lately, what with Mirror's Edge and Dead Space in the offing.

I'm not surprised about the PS3 screen-grabbing rumor. After all, there's also a rumor going around that the next PSP firmware update will give the handheld the same feature. Besides, I'd imagine players would demand it after experiencing the feature in LittleBigPlanet. Maybe OPM just made that one up to give Sony a hint. And I hope they get it.

» 360?

does that one mention of the 360 really justify posting this in the 360 blog?

screengrabs sounds like a good idea, but i wonder how many games will really support such a feature. most games currently have no way of pausing the action with out graying/covering the screen with a menu.

» BioShock

It's posted in the Xbox 360 blog more for the rumor on BioShock 2 than anything.

"EA will publish the ex-Vivendi project, Jack Black's Brutal Legend. "

Why did it have to be EA? I think I'd have rather had ANY OTHER PUBLISHER other than EA.

Also It's Tim Schafer's Brutal Legend not Jack Black's. Jack Black might be the lead role but Tim Schafer is the real celebrity in the gaming circuit.

Did you not buy games like MGS4, Uncharted, Ratchet + Clank or Heavenly Sword... because they have no online gameplay?

Crytek have already ported their engine to both the 360 and the PS3 and have been showing it off in the hopes of liciencing it out to developers. I would be very surprised if Crysis didn't come to the 360 as well. It doesn't seems like the article mentioned exclusivitity, and the fact that it's a Playstation only magazine justifies them not listd that it's coming to the 360 also.

Good on EA for picking up Brutal Legend (if the rumors true). Looking forward to Bioshock 2 and Dead Rising 2. Both the originals were brilliant, I've played through them many times over.

Why not just put every thread in one if you're doing this...

No MGS4 does not have online.

MGO is a separate game which can be bought on its own in Japan and will be available separately in the US and EU in 2009.

» X360 WTF!!!

Right on bother.

The x360 doesn't belong here on PS3 news.

» Ummm... okay chessboxer...

MY copy of MGS4 came with MGO... so I was able to have both and not have to buy them seperately.

Here in Canada, we have that luxury.

by Shatterdome - 2008-10-03 08:14
» yeah...

MGS4 definately came with an online mode....and i'm sure it was for more then just the people in canada (although I am in canada too)

It seems more like a "beta" for MGO that they just threw on the blu-ray....then decided to try and get money with some expansions....which I don't understand if they are releasing a seperate game later....

Yeah MGO was shipped with MGS4 worldwide but the point I am making is that MGS4 and MGO are separate games, moreso than say Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source.

Since they are separate, I am correct when I say that MGS4 does not have online game play.

If you really, really need proof or do not understand, follow the link and see how many players are listed: http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/881/881634p1.html

This really is a simple concept to grasp.
