We shared with you yesterday some interesting insights on what will soon hit the Australian Virtual Console (VC). We learned that two new retro games, namely Alien Storm and Wonder Boy in Monster World, were just rated by the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC).

Several retro games rated by OFLC - Image 1We're quite sure OFLC doesn't classify old video games just for kicks but we are still awaiting an official announcement from Nintendo. Anyway, several other titles were sighted over at the classification board's official site and they are:
  • Open Tournament Golf (NES)
  • Mach Rider (NES)
  • ActRaiser (SNES)
  • Final Fight (SNES)
The golf game was originally released back in 1991 and is actually the fifth title to feature Mario as a golfer. Players get to be Mario as he goes head-to-head against Luigi and four other newly created characters. Moreover, Mach Rider is a driving video game set in the year 2112. It was first released in 1985.

ActRaiser was developed by Enix (now Square Enix) and came out in 1990. The game is considered important during its heyday as it was able to incorporate side-scrolling platform actions with some urban planning simulation. Lastly, Capcom released Final Fight, dubbed as Street Fighter's cousin, in 1990.

Actraiser was made by Enix, not SquareEnix. There is a difference, believe it or not.
