Oddworld Inhabitants' Lorne Lanning confirms new Oddworld title |
Ó
A couple of days back, we posted a report saying that Maxis co-founder Jeff Braun was working with the folks at Oddworld Inhabitants to make a new Oddworld game. Well, we've got additional confirmation of a new Oddworld game in the works, courtesy of Lorne Lanning, the president of Oddworld Inhabitants.According to the Game Industry report, Lanning confirmed the earlier news but didn't provide other details. "I can confirm that we're working with Jeff on Oddworld stuff," notes Lanning, "but that's all I can say at this time."
The development of a new Oddworld game is good news, to say the least. That being said, here's to hoping the devs come out with more details soon.

this confirmation just made my day. WOOT! ^_^ now for more confirmation on the actual platforms it'll get released for... and a release window! hellzyeah!
"Hewwo!"
"Fowwow mee!"
I remember the first Oddworld... I think the manual said something about making five or six games.
Hoorah. New Oddness.
Weeeee, me likes.
the first game was fantastic.. loved that game
Munch's Oddysee ftw!
i am so excited for this. oddworld rules!
I'm interested in not only what console(s) (still stinging in the pants from Stranger's Wrath), but what race/characters it'll feature. I'm hoping it's a continuation of SW, especially if it's ported to the Wii...I believe the wiimote/nunchuk will bring something really special to the gameplay.
And @FreePlay, Oddworld Inhabitants promised us five characters/races or something like that. Abe's Oddysey and Abe's Exodus both count toward Abe as one. Munch counts as two, Stranger counts as three. We're due at the very *least* two more games for two more characters, but the ending of SW was so open I wouldn't doubt if there's a continuation of his story to come, too.
