The new wireless Wii Nunchuck from Nyko - Image 1

If you're a Nintendo Wii player who's found the tether of the Wii Nunchuck attachment bothersome, then Nyko, noted game peripheral maker, may have just the thing for you: Nyko has come up with a new wireless Nunchuck controller for the Nintendo Wii.

Generally speaking, there appears to be no real difference between the Nintendo's original wired Nunchuck controller and Nyko's new wireless model in terms of actual performance and button layout. Nyko's wireless Nunchuck will reportedly communicate with a receiver module connected to the Wiimote's standard Nunchuck port via 2.4 Ghz wireless.

Nyko's wireless Nunchuck for the Nintendo Wii is set to make its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show next month. Some hardware details may change between now and then, however, so stay tuned for more info on this liberating Wii attachment from Nyko.

I was wondering where all the wireless peripherals were. Nintendo should have done this from the start. The cables from the Nunchuck to the Wii-mote aren't quite long enough, but if they were longer they'd be even MORE in the way. Way to go NyKo.

Now I don't have to worry about my son wreaking another nunchuck controller by chewing on the cord. (and yes I know its sounds wierd but kids do the dardest things)

I agree with all of you. The name seems like a bit of contradiction in terms, though. A real nunchuck consists of two rods chained together, after all.
