NPD: Top 5 best-selling games in 2008 (so far) for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii |

The NPD Group has released a compiled report of the top five best-selling games for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and NIntendo Wii from January 1, 2008, all the way up to August.
Looking at the list gives you some general inkling of what types of games sell on these specific consoles - a useful tool for market analysts. It may even give answers (subjective answers, may be; though not definitve) to questions like what type of gamers do these consoles attract, or what type of genre they prefer on this or that specific console.
If you've been following the monthly reports from NPD, you wouldn't be surprised to see the top 5 titles listed per console. There's GTA4, MGS4, CoD4, SSBB... why, a lot of the games in the lists are acronym-friendly!
Just a couple things to bear in mind first though: these rankings do not include special editions and hardware bundles. Also note that, since this is coming from the NPD, the sales data that was tracked covers North America only, and none from other major markets like Europe or Japan.

I love how each system has the controller leaning against it showing how big it is, then the Wiimote is just standing tall beside the Wii, almost taller.

What are the xbots going to do now all their top 5 games are multiplatform while the ps3 has two exclusives -and as usual Nintendo has all exclusive. PS3 and Wii FTW

tis actually true. I mean, "Oh, the ps3 lacks games LOLZORS" and "360 has more and better exclusives!!!" and then we see this? ahhhh well, any money says that a couple of 360 fanboys will rate this comment low and abuse me... calm down buddy.
as a 360 owner i kind of agree, the 360 exclusives have died down a lot, IMO the exclusives it has had are not that great; I wasn't too impressed with Halo 3, gears of war was a good game but it seriously lacks replayibility and the game is really short and it seems to take forever for multiplayer games to start.
I've always been a PS fan but i brought an xbox 360 cause some of my mates had them and cause they were cheaper.
The only good thing i can say about 360 (as far as games go)is that it has a better line up of RPG games than PS3 which is incredibly weird.
it's not gona help the ps3 that the 360 also gets resident evil 5 and silent hill 5 though
there's not enough ps3 exclusives yet for me to buy a ps3 yet

Ok Pepole Get This Straight PS3 Dosent Suck It on a Slow Pace Then The Xbox 360....Thats Why The Xbox 360 is gonna suck (what happens after all the updates are finished and there games end) At School my friends said the In-Game XMB Will Suck (True) and Xbox All Ready Have That Soo There Gonna Run Out of Ideas ...... Only Charaters On Super Smash Bros. (Mario, Samus, Kirby etc...) There Games Are The Only Good Ones and Wiisport etc. so Wii Will Fall Too and PS3 Takes Its Time On Working It And Just Imagine the PS4 Woah! The Graphics Will Be 5X Better and Longer Then the PS3 sooo Back Off!
but I thought it was way to complicated/tactical for me to have any fun...
seems like the 360 is the system for rpgs right now and the ps3 for fps, i hope they get swapped back soon
