No Online for Call of Duty 3 on Wii |

The newest issue of Game Informer Magazine said that the Wii version of Call of Duty 3 would allow 16 players to play online using the Nintendo WiFi Connection. Well Wii aficionados' celebration may be short-lived as Activision clarified that the Wii CoD3 will NOT have online multiplayer. According to Activision:
“That was a misprint on Game Informer’s part. We wanted to clear up that the Wii version will not have online multiplayer, but is being developed to take advantage of the unique controls and provide an amazing single player interactive experience.”
This is definitely a disappointment. Either Activision is being really lazy or Nintendo has dropped the ball with Nintendo WiFi Connection for the Wii. Have they given as little information to 3rd parties as they have to us? After all, we still have no idea how it will function on the Wii. This will definitely cripple sales of Call of Duty 3 on the Wii considering that the online component was one of the most important parts of Call of Duty 2!

None of their Wii offerings will be online and I think it's stupid. They can't complain about disc spcae because Wii and 360 use the same discs.

No 3rd party online games till 2007. Nintendo is revamping the WFC service. I'm wondering, could an online componet be released via Wii24 connect later on?
The Wii does have Usb ports so it would be entirely possible to hook up an external hard drive. This means no Red Steel online either.
We can still be hopeful for Mortal Kombat tho.

There probably wont be any until spring 2007.
