Wii logo - Image 1In the midst of mysterious console model numbers and SKUs currently popping up, is Nintendo following suit as well? Codename Revolution reports about what could be a second Wii Console which will supposedly be distributed to retailers in the near future.

While it's most probably a new bundle of sorts, we could not discount the fact that it may be a new console. The "New Pack" reportedly has the UPC (Universal Product Code) number 045496880088, which was traced as belonging to Nintendo. Other than the UPC being owned by Nintendo, no other information about it is available at the moment.

The rumored price for this item will be US$ 290.97, or CA$ 289.99. There's a lot of speculation behind this supposed new SKU. Coupled with the rumored new PlayStation 3 console, we're in one heck of a console ride this holiday season.

Oh great

And once again, the early adopters, who try support the company, get raped by ending up with the crap version of the console.

DVD Movies?

This has got to be the announced version that's capable of playing Movie DVDs... No big deal, since EVERY SINGLE CONSOLE can do that and standalone players are dirt cheap nowadays (well, except for those upscaling ones)

new bundle?

Maybe this one comes with a REAL GAME! Not a half-assed mini game that was shelved in the N64 era because it wouldn't sell in those days. Or maybe the Wii finally has a DVD player that costs pennies to add the functionality for! Perhaps Nintendo feels bad for offering so little for such a high price?
