Ah, Wii Music. The only Wii-branded Nintendo title not to sell oodles and oodles of copies (it only sold a half-oodle). It looks like Nintendo's going to music teachers to keep the game in "evergreen" mode, though.

According to a press release, Nintendo is teaming up with music teachers to bring Wii Music and Wii consoles to classrooms. Says Cammie Dunaway, NoA's executive VP of Sales & Marketing, the goal here is to "give students a memorable, hands-on experience that helps them discover their own creative voice."

Nintendo's collaborators include MENC: The National Association for Music Education, which will help teachers in 51 cities across the nation integrate Wii Music into their curricula.San Francisco's Blue Bear School of Music and New York's Opus 118 Harlem School of Music have also signed on.

Well, at least someone's getting some mileage out of Wii Music.

"and now, we are going to play ROCKBAND FOR RETARDS! or, wii music as they call it."

I've played it and it's not at all what you would think it is. It's actually kinda fun, the drums anyway as they're pretty complicated. Sure, I'll take the drums on Rockband any day but in this case I can certainly see Wii Music inspiring kids to want to learn more. Whoever has a problem with that is a douche bag.

Iv played Wii music and found it to be another pile of casual $hit that only 5 year olds and the retarded may enjoy. I don't see how pushing the 1 and 2 buttons is learning anything or waving the Wiimote anyway you want.

If you want kids to learn instruments then give them real instruments!

» yeah but

thats an old discussion. it is the same thing regarding GH or rock band.. if kids practised as much a real instrument as they do with games, they could have a chance of making some dough, winning some chicks and OD young!!!

It's to help inspire them to WANT TO learn an actual instrument.

I'm sorry you are too narrow minded to understand such simple things.

Also, you obviously did not play the drums.

Just because Wii music was a FAILure, Nintendo needs to try to make it seem like something positive for kids.

It's just a game, and a crappy one at that.

Wow, seriously? Are you this stupid? You have no clue what it means to be inspired to play an instrument?

So what is suppose to inspire them? Watching it on TV?

Get a clue jackass.
