It appears that the future of Nibris' Sadness is still up in the air, at least when it comes to getting on the Nintendo Wii home video game console. Reminded by Nibris' Sadness Christmas card, GoNintendo reader Cottonwood decided to ask Nintendo about the game. Here's what the Nintendo rep had to say:

At this time, Sadness has not been announced for release on the Wii console. Since this title would most likely come from one of our third-party licensees, IÂ’d suggest contacting them for more information.

While others are already chalking the game up as just another piece of vaporware, it may be possible that Nibris is still working on finding a publisher for Sadness. The company sent out an email a couple of month back saying that Sadness is still in development and will hit in 2009.

Whatever the reason, we hope that the company decides to release something - anything, even just one screenshot - about Sadness soon.

lol

That's an appropriate name for a Wii exclusive game.

Sadness

Me too. It's one of the few games that could possibly drive me to finally buy a Wii. This and Fatal Frame 4.

looks like vaporware

Acording to Gamespot: "Obscure Polish developer Nibris announces Sin City-esque title set in the 1930s--and presented entirely in black and white." Hmm announced last april and virtually no news since then? Only 2 screenshots posted that look like concept art rather than ingame screens? Believe what you want, but I've seen vaporware with far more progress shown than this before.

vaporware

The fact that Nibris isn't on Nintendo's list of Wii licensees doesn't help too. Still, I'll treat this as my DNF. Maybe ten years down the line we'll finally see screenshots. :P
