Nintendo rolls out another Wii system update yet again - Image 1It was only yesterday when Nintendo rolled out a system update for the Wii console to accommodate changes that will come with the WiiWare download service in May.

However, we just got word that there's another one today that just went live. There's still no available information as of now but according to one of our sources, it looks like the system update is for a number of things.

Those would include update to the shop channel, update to Internet play, and for fixing some games. For those who are going online now and will be updating their Nintendo Wii systems, maybe you can help out the community by going back here at QJ.NET and noting the changes via the comment section below.

At any rate, you can be sure that we will update you as soon as more information regarding this become available.

» "Fixing some games?"

Anybody willing to risk losing homebrew to see if that's what was "fixed"?

» Not a chance

I also wouldn't want to risk losing my freeloader.

I'm not waiting for Brawl to come out in the UK, just to get some Wiiware games.

» Indeed.

Chances are the game "fixes" + patching exploits ala Zelda etc.

Need my freeloader :)

» Can't Find

I can't find the update. I'm on 3.2U by the way.

» Not updating :P

I don't use any of the channels anyway, the only time I update is when there's a required update on the disk, and the freeloader deals with those anyway, so it's all good

"It has been reported that a new Wii System Update is available that combats the current Trucha exploit, rendering modified games unplayable. For this reason we currently recommend you NOT UPDATE your Wii if prompted."
