Nintendo responds to the Wii production delays |

In a previous article, we reported that the Wii shortage would continue until 2007 due to a shortage of both IC chips and PCBs. This is pretty bad news for Nintendo with the demand for the console rising higher as each month passes.Next Generation was able to get in contact with a representative from Nintendo of America. While the said rep confirmed the production delay, in the email, it was also said that "Nintendo has no revisions to announce to its most recent shipment forecasts at this time."
If you'd care to recall, Nintendo raised its targeted number of consoles to be shipped from 14 million to 16.5 million last July. With the delays, it may be difficult for the console manufacture to reach that goal.
