Nintendo provides possible solution to Error 85010 in SSBB |
Ó
It's just unfortunate that Nintendo's much-awaited Super Smash Bros. Brawl is hitting some serious snags upon its release. First off are issues concerning both the Wii hardware and the disc itself, and yet another sad problem is the fact that some Brawlers are having some problems trying to get into random online matches. While online Brawling with those whom you swapped Friend Codes with is relatively problem-free, trying to pick a fight with random people just doesn't work quite well enough, with some gamers complaining about congested traffic preventing them from connecting to the network. Those who tried to connect during peak hours were greeted with a pop-up message with Error Code 85010, or "Disconnected from network during transmission."
So how to go around it? Nintendo's customer service page offers some solutions:
- Our servers may be trying to handle an unusually high amount of traffic (especially if you are trying to play online with a recently-released or popular game, or if there is a new Wii system update). Please wait a few hours and try the connection again later.
- How are you connecting online? The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is only compatible with Cable, DSL, and Fiber-optic internet connections. If you are connecting via Satellite, EV-DO (cellular), Dial-up, or other types of connections, then you should try to use an alternate type of connection. Contact your Internet Service Provider if you are not sure what type of internet connection you have.
- The error may be caused by a basic setting on the router that needs to be adjusted (such as the channel). Please review our general router troubleshooting.

"Our servers may be trying to handle an unusually high amount of traffic (especially if you are trying to play online with a recently-released or popular game, or if there is a new Wii system update). Microsoft gets sued for everything, it only seems fair Nintendo get sued for not being able to handle the traffic. Nintendo could at least offer a free downloadable game or something.
for one reason they didn't cause this problem.
well maybe its because everyone actually LIKES nintendo XD no the 360 is pretty cool i even have one but seriously Microsoft thinks theyre big and bad and stuff and picks on the little guys but anyways do you want to know why theyre sued so much?? its very simple its because one theyve had WAY worse problems than nintendo two theyre microsoft theyre huge so they just want money from them!!
The game work good for me and my brother the game is a very good game to have.
Why should they get sued over heavy game traffic? The game just came out 3 days ago, and it has a very strong fanbase, so expect alot of people trying to connect to the NWC server and slowing it down...x_x That somewhat recent Xbox Live December problem wasn't due to Halo 3's traffic as it came out in November, but came out as an unexplained(?) issue with the service, which called for compensation with that free game.
Don't be an idiot. SSMB is HUGE, and there's no way Nintendo could fully test the servers under full strain before release. This kind of thing happens all the time. WoW charges a monthly fee, and their servers crashed all to hell for over a week when they first went live. For a very long time. Halo 3 servers went down upon release too. XBox Live broke for a while in December, and they blamed it on too many people getting XBoxes for Christmas. If people tried to sue them for that, they at least have grounds. I'd be pissed if a service I payed a recurring fee for wasn't working too. Once Brawl is purchased, playing online is free forever. What's a few days of rough edges going to hurt in the end? And don't chime in with crap about how they just need to add more servers.... everybody and their mom is hitting that WiFi button right now. Within a week the server load will be cut in half, leaving all those extra servers set up for a few days worth of congestion collecting dust. Financially, that's retarded.
thats because people PAYED for xbl and couldnt access thier service while not recieving compensation. there is no way to win if you sue nintendo because the lack of service doesnt waste something of yours (other than time)
Nintendo's online service itself may be free, but you overpaid Ninty $100 for the console itself (2 years XBOX live right there) and bought the game too with online being a major attraction. Since a lot of the game is recycled from the Gamecube game (in traditional Nintendo fashion) with a few new characters, levels, and long overdue online play, they could at lest use the profit and savings from being lazy to upgrade the servers. There's also the fact hardly any Wii games are online enabled, so they can't have much traffic in the first place.
why bother no one listen to you except those Bum Chums of yours
With that argument, MCS has put more meat in his mouth than jenna jameson and paris hilton. ------ Wonder how long it will take to block this comment XD.
Doesn't Stewie have homosexual tendencies? It was revealed in Family Guy multiple times.
Not only that, first couple of seasons he kept on saying the same phrases like the ones I kept repeating for the first 2 months 2008. Still not impressed with how many people I managed to annoy. Btw, where's Isohaven and his rebuttal?
