Wii party - Image 1With the Nintendo Wii being sold as the "party console", it's no surprise to find that Nintendo is actually taking advantage of this particular selling point. Perrin Kaplan, Vice President of Marketing for Nintendo of America gave some details regarding Nintendo's tie-up with events planner website Evite.com, in an effort to play up the "party" concept of the Wii even more.

According to Kaplan, "Wii parties are something Nintendo has been following since Wii launched last year. We wanted to contribute to the trend by helping it to grow organically by working with Evite to suggest topics and designs." Wii party templates now available in Evite.com suggest playing games such as Mario Party 8 and Wii Sports. Other helpful recommendations about decoration, attire, activities, and even recipes can be found in the website as well.

It's common now to see a bunch of people dropping by a friend's house to play with the Nintendo Wii over chips and dip. This phenomenon is not limited to the usual younger set - parents well into their sixties are also finding themselves getting hooked on the Wii, dropping their blah barbecue parties in favor of some good time with the Wii.
