Looks like Nintendo's extending their modchip banhammer to Germany these days. A recent news report indicates that the company is clamping down on retail sites Videogamediscount, Gametop, Xtrem-Tuner, The Gamers World, and Cheap-chip.com for supplying/selling modchips for the Wii console.Based on the translation we picked up, Nintendo is invoking paragraph 95 of Germany's copyright law, which forbids the selling of technologies that are made to bypass any protective mechanisms built into their product. Nintendo is further requesting that the said retailers provide information on who their modchip suppliers are.
