Nintendo cuts down Wii orders, parts suppliers hit hard

It seems Nintendo isn't the only one getting hit by the Wii's recent sales woes. Parts suppliers are also suffering as Nintendo cuts down on orders for Wii parts. MarketWatch reports that suppliers Mitsumi Electric Co. and Hosiden Corp. now expect their respective net profits to drop around 50% from their projected figures.

Of course, the Wii's sales slump is only one possible reason for the drop in orders. Based on the insane number of Wii sales over the years, it's not too far-fetched to think that almost everybody who wants a Wii already has one, especially with the sales surge generated by the September price drop.

Hey, maybe they're gearing up for that new console Yoichi Wada was talking about.

Actually, this news only proves how wrong you have ever been.

Of course sales are slowing down. They saturated the market to an extent. They were full steam ahead production wise. As full steam as they possibly could have been. Plus, they remained that way until they absolutely had to back off. Which is now.

If they had such a tight control on output manipulation then this issue never would have come up. But let me guess, they are faking this too right?

This happens to everyone. Microsoft, Sony.... get an education you moron!

Also...WTF is the login not working in IE8? I tried it on WinXP and Win7. Had to use Chrome just to be able to login.

Maybe they should take a page from Microsoft and sell systems that break after a year or ban people from the online portion thus forcing people who already own a system to purchase a new one.

BTW, wasn't there just an article on Dec 1st describing a boom in sales here on QJ?
