Nintendo of America has sent 'round a press release announcing the release date for their own first-party music game, Wii Music.

Wii Music lets players use the Wiimote and Nunchuk to control a six member band with a combination of motions and button presses. Unlike other music games it doesn't tie itself down to just one instrument. More than 60 different instruments are available to play in this game.

Wii Music also lets players add their own twist to the game's playable tracks. Once they're done tweaking it to their liking, they can then send it to others via the Wii Message Board.

Wii Music launches on October 20.

first we started with playing a real instrument- really cool and fun cud be frustating learning the instrument

then we went to fake plastic instruments rockband and guitar hero etc.-cool and fun

now wii music pretend your playing music by moving your wii controller and pressign buttons- I MEAN REALLY THATS SAD

Whatever will we do? Ban games that done use real instruments?

Anyway this game is going to suck unless you like pressing buttons to make sounds.

# Excuse me but, i dont know what rock you have been living underKingPoubar 2008-09-20 05:41
But pretending to play music by pressing buttons is exactly what Rockband and Guitar Hero is.

Be a REAL guitar hero, buy one and learn.

OR, we could play the game or learn the instrument if we care that much.

Seriously, it's a game, get over the "go play an instrument" thing.

Nintedno isnt trying to rival with rock band nor is it anyway connected with it you dumb a-hole.

Wii Music is going to be ***** but i dont see people that like rock band buying this.

But if you need to feel good about buying either a 360 or PS3 by trolling the Wii boards. Thats quite sad :D

After seeing this game at E3 I was totally unimpressed. This is just a sad looking game. How can you really expect people to pay up to $50 for this game. I don't want to say this is a terrible idea buy maybe this game should be sold at a reduced price of like $20 or so to make it a little more worthwhile to buy it. I do hope however that everyone else steals their idea for drums and starts using it more since their drum system was the most amazing part of the game.

This isn't going to do well. Like I mean, why would you want to play a game where your playing as the dude orchestrating the band, instead of a game where you're actually sort of IN the band?

# you do..tanman37 2008-09-20 19:54
You do, the point is that you can play all these different instruments, record it, and share it.

# WHAT HAPPENED TO QJ???Silver-Tiger 2008-09-22 03:38
what the hell happened to QJ ?!?!?

No updates for 3 days,

No weekly summarizes anymore,

the polls are years old,

the download section is totally screwed up,

The authors are making more and more mistakes,

And the worst part: science.qj.net wa scrapped.

In the past weeks to months, the situation here has become worse and worse. I was always a happy visitor here, you had your problems, but ok, you could look over them. But now, it's unacceptable.

Seriously, you should consider a relaunch with some fresh new ideas and new ambitious authors or a total Restart or your site.
