NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams for the Nintendo Wii - Image 1

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is the sequel to the popular game Nights into Dreams on the Sega Saturn. Now, future sequels may be sticking with the Wii. The game's director, Takashi Iizuka, said as much in a recent interview.

It's not exactly a solid promise, but then again he expressed his intentions pretty clearly:

When we decided to finally make a sequel to NiGHTS, we didn’t know which console it would be for. We only decided later on that we would develop the game for the Wii. But I think it was a good choice – should we make another installment, we would make it for the Wii.

It's still a little early to say if the decision is already made, but taking from what Iizuka said, it may very well be that the Nintendo Wii has a solid franchise on its hands. The game has already been released in Japan and the US and will be reaching Europe this month.

» yay

Not only that crappy Sega Saturn remake, but also Wii Chess, Jenga, and Crusin' are exclusive Wii titles. I believe Nights came out shortly before the Saturn failed if I recall.
