If the next-gen console war is taking place in a movie screen, this would be the part where the drums start playing as the two mortal enemies, the PS3 and the Wii, start to roll out its combat forces. But the war will take place in video stores so battle prep ration is accompanied mostly by the Sound of Muzak. However, don't let the bland soundtrack fool you. The war will be as bloody as any Quentin Tarantino opus.

According to Rated-M, both Nintendo and Sony have started to send out demo kiosks for their respective consoles to a number retail stores such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and GameStop/EB stores. We know Sony is putting up 15,000 demo booths in North America. Nintendo, on the other hand, did not give specific figures but the company did say there will be more than one place to try out the Wii.

Rated-M said that different store locations and chains may receive their kiosks on different days. In fact, some PS3 kiosks may have been installed by the time this article has been posted. But one thing's for sure, neither side will leave anything to chance. All kiosks are expected to be up and running by the end of next week at the latest, say Rated-M.

Hold on! We're heading for a showcase showdown and this is one war where we don't being being caught in the crossfire.

Why is it that when they write articles about next gen wars they only include the PS3 and Wii? What happened to the 360, is 360 not that big of a threat anymore?

the 360 is already out but the ps3 and wii have yet to. so in the close time before their launch theyre going to have more major deveopments than the 360, as we do not know everything about them yet.

Lol, my target cleared the x360 and xbox1 section to make room for more ps3/ps2/psp stuff. the xbox stuff got pushed to one of the lesser isles.

it's already out and sold 10million. Now it's time for the new battle begin. ps3 vs wii.

Microsoft only managed to sell 6 million units after almost a year, and that was without any competition. I don't know how they're going to survive once PS3 and Wii hit the market. They've been clearing out PS3 shelf space and getting rid of the PS2 demo kiosks at gamestops and circuit cities in my area, so hopefully those PS3 kiosks come in soon. Too bad Gamestop made an exclusivity deal with Nintendo; great business decision, but also a bad one since people who only go to other stores won't be able to play it.

So many people are excited about the PS3 that there'll probably be lines just to try out the demo kiosks.
