Next-gen retro goodness with Namco Museum Remix for the Wii |
Ó
Don your rose-tinted glasses for Namco's announced a compilation of remade arcade classics soon to be released for the Nintendo Wii, titled Namco Museum Remix. With the iconic dot-eating yellow ball, Pac-Man, players will use the Wiimote and its motion-tracking capabilities to shoot, swipe and whack their way through five games. All of which re-imagined and re-mixed from popular licenses anyone will immediately recognize, even Grandma.
If you're like us and you're already itching for some fast and furious retro action, here are the descriptions of the remixed games, just so you know what you'll be up against:
- Pac'n'Roll Remix: Pac-Man goes Katamari in this remix, where players will have to roll the yellow dude through worlds filled with deadly obstacles - all the while rolling up pac-pellets and power-ups. Now, if only Namco could go the entire nine yards and make a Katamari Damacy for the Wii...
- Galaga Remix: Eradicate, obliterate, destroy - and shoot down the incoming horde of Galaga's aliens before they get to Pac-Man! Up to four players can take up the battle for awesome multiplayer action, with individual score tracking.
- Pac-Motos Remix: Reign supreme in the world of small, brightly-colored arenas as you use the Wiimote to knock, slam and boot the competition out of the ring.
- Rally-X Remix: The need to speed has taken over Pac-Man and it's up to you to steer him to victory! Using the Wiimote in an intuitive control scheme, navigate your way through tricky, obstacle-filled tracks and leave the competition hanging in the dust.
- Gator Panic Remix: Gator problem? Pac-Man's on the case. Whack, slap and smash emerging gators onscreen with the help of the dot-eating yellow dude. Whoever whacks the most gators wins.
