It's a bit of a down-to-earth name for a new mode, but that's exactly what Sega has called it: Far mode. According to Sega, this is the new gameplay mode available for House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return.

Our first idea was that of a sniping option, but that's apparently not the case. Sega has mentioned that the Far mode in House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return is basically a game mode with the game difficulty level turned up. This translates into more formidable foes and less ammunition available for players to use, probably in the shots per reload department.

Sega, however, has not left House of the Dead fans to fend for themselves - a  new melee attack has been made available to players. All they have to do to activate it is to press the A button. This can result in anything from blocking attacks to disposing of several zombies at once.

House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return will reportedly be released on March 19 in Japan. Watch this space for more updates regarding Sega's bundled title.
